THE QUARTER THAT WAS SAU AWARD CEREMONY

New Delhi (03.06.2019) SAU News: SAU Award Ceremony 2019 was held in the Stein Auditorium at the India
Habitat Centre on 3 June 2019, where the outgoing batch of students received their Master’s and PhD
degrees. The degrees were handed over by Dr. Kavita A Sharma, President, SAU. Toppers from the seven
academic programmes received SAU Gold Medals from Professor Bhim Prasad Subedi, Chairman of the
Governing Board, SAU. Students, parents, faculty members and professional staff of the University, along
with several dignitaries from the High Commissions and Embassies, attended the event.

Professor Subedi, in his address to the graduating students, said, “It is a moment of pride for you as much
as it is for your teachers, parents and every one of those who built the cornerstones for your education
and well-being of your life so far. I am sure that each of one you has different dreams; you should never
give up your dreams and aspirations for it is those aspirations that will drive you to higher levels of
achievements and make you life purposeful.”

Dr. Sharma, while congratulating the students, said that South Asian University is the embodiment of the
very idea of cooperation. She mentioned with pride that the SAU alumni are doing extraordinarily well in
their chosen fields in their respective countries as well as in other parts of the world.
