             International Workshop on IoT & Machine Learning



             New Delhi (04-05.05.2019) SAU FMCS News: The Department of Computer Science organized a two-day
             international workshop on "Emerging Trends in Internet of Things and Machine Learning" (ETIML’19) on
             04-05 May 2019 at Akbar Bhawan, South Asian University. The workshop aimed to bring together a high-
             levelinternationalforumofeminentacademicians,industryexpertsandresearcherscholarstoexchange
             ideas on the recent trends and applications of Internet of Things and Machine Learning. Dr. Reshma
             Rastogi and Dr. Shachi Sharma organized the event in co-ordination with the students of Department of
             ComputerScience.ResearchersfromacrossSouthAsiaregisteredtheirinterestintheworkshop.
             The workshop comprised of 09
             technical lectures along with a
             hands-on session and one special
             sessionforinvitedpresentations.


             The panel of speakers in technical
             sessions included Prof. Ravi
             Kothari (Distinguished Engineer,
             IBM Research), Prof. S. B. Nair (IIT
             Guwhati), Prof. Brejesh Lall (IIT
             Delhi), Prof. Jayadeva (IIT Delhi),
             Dr.K.P.Singh(IIITAllahabaad),Dr.
             Santanu Talukder (IISER Bhopal),
             Dr. A. Chattopadhyay (IIT Delhi),
             Dr.N.Rajput(DU)andMr.PraveenKumar(EkaggaTech.). ThesubjectsoftalksspannedfromGenerative
             models to Object Detection to Software and Hardware tools and Techniques for IoT applications. A
             practical session on “How to build an IoT solution?” was conducted by Mr. Praveen Kumar. In the special
             session, multiple registered research scholars from prestigious academic institutes presented their
             researchworkswhichsimulatedpositivediscussionsamongtheparticipants.


             The workshop concluded with a valedictory session where special guest Prof. Suresh Chandra (Emeritus
             Professor, IIT Delhi) emphasized the need to not only incorporate artificial Intelligence in our everyday
             lifebutalso understandwhythingsworksincertainwaysinstate-of-artMachineLearning.
